But what's truly problematic in this case is believing that only two options exist. Companies worry about being associated with an image like this because we're creating a climate of intolerance. We're allowing the country to become so polarized that people who disagree can't even see that the other side occasionally has a point. And so, when somebody says something we don't agree with, our worst reflexes come out immediately. We jump to conclusions. We call something "moronic" instead of rebutting its logic. You'll note that my post said nothing concerning a remedy. What I'm deploring here doesn't have an easy remedy other than tolerance -- which, after all, is the core value we're protecting in the First Amendment. Thanks for stopping by.
