Over President’s Day weekend, Bill Barnes and I took advantage of the good weather to have a quick launch. Bill, his brother Jay, and kids David and Ruby, and I trooped out over the frozen ground at Sixty Acres South and had a picture-perfect morning launching everything up to “F” motors. In particular, I hurriedly finished my 29mm prototype with integral exhaust gas filter and bevelled aircraft plywood fins. The rocket was designed to take up to a low “H” motor in the 29mm form factor, and carry a small removable payload bay for altimeters, etc. Its first two launches were excellent, with clean recoveries (even though the parachute tangled on the first launch). The picture below is the first launch, on an Aerotech F50-9T.
